Project 2025: Building a Medical Clinic in Madagascar

In 2025, African Leadership USA aims to raise $7,000 to establish a Medical Clinic in Madagascar, a project that will provide life-saving care and renewed hope to thousands of villagers in need.

Fundraising Goal: $7,000

This amount will cover all the necessary costs to establish one medical clinic in a Malagasy village:

• Construction costs: $4,000

• Medical supplies: $1,000

• Training for healthcare workers: $2,000

With a total of $7,000, we will be able to build a health center that will serve between 800 to 3,000 villagers, providing them with crucial medical care and hope for a healthier future.

Why Is This Project So Important?

Across Madagascar, there are vast regions with little to no access to healthcare. Particularly in mountainous areas, coastal regions, and remote islands, medical services are nearly nonexistent. To address this critical gap, African Leadership is building medical clinics in these underserved areas and training 2-4 local residents per village as community health workers to provide basic healthcare services.

Every two weeks, a doctor will visit these clinics to continue training the health workers, manage the clinic, and provide direct medical care to the community. The selection of these trained health workers will be made in collaboration with the local village council, ensuring the most trusted and capable individuals are chosen. In return, the health workers will receive monthly support from the community in the form of rice.

Currently, African Leadership is operating over 40 such clinics, supported by a dedicated team of 3 doctors. Due to the geographical challenges, many of these areas are only accessible by boat or rugged paths, requiring the doctors to visit 2-4 clinics per day. Each clinic serves between 800 to 3,000 individuals, providing essential care and services. While many of the cases are simple enough for the health workers to manage, more complex issues are handled through remote communication with the doctors, ensuring patients receive the care they need.
